Just Right

Goldilocks, that well known, fussy burglar and food tester was on a quest. A quest to find out what was “just right”. Even though she got a nasty shock when the bears came home, and they got a sharp lesson on home security.

Perhaps one key motif from this story, was the moment of finding what was “just right” for her. The recognition of discovering the right balance for the individual was shown in the differences of what was just right for each of the bears.

As we start each new day ask yourself what is just right for you? What do you want to achieve? How are you going to achieve it? When will you know that you have succeeded? How will you know?

Allow yourself to take a deep breath and as you exhale just check in with yourself as you continue to breathe easily and naturally. Give yourself a moment.

Ask yourself “How do I feel today? What do I want from this day and at the end of the day what will I be pleased about?”

Now rate your motivation to achieve your answers on a scale of 1-10. One being “I want to stay in bed” and 10 being “I am sooo ready to run the marathon!”.

As you examine your motivation assess how to increase or maintain it. A marathon starts with a single step so what will be your first step today on the right path of success for you? What will you do to stay on the path easily and how will you feel when you reach the end of today?

Just like Goldilocks we cannot know what will happen when we explore different possibilities but if we keep searching for what is our “just right” we may just find it. Hopefully unlike this curious home invader we may find ourselves pleasantly surprised!
